So… What Did We Really Just Do?

Well, the situation between Iran and Israel has taken another turn — and it’s not a small one.
The United States just bombed Iran. Supposedly three military sites that had something to do with nuclear development.
That’s what we’re being told. But not too long ago, Tulsi Gabbard — who serves as the Intelligence Director under Trump — said very clearly that Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons. Not even close.
When Trump was asked about that, he said she was wrong.
But here’s the thing… where does a president get better intel than his own intelligence director? Think about that for a moment. Either someone’s lying, or someone’s pretending to know more than they actually do. Either way, we’re in dangerous territory.
This, in my opinion, is posturing. It’s showtime politics. It’s meant to give the appearance that something bold is being done “for Israel.”
And yet, what triggered all this? Israel’s determination to bring Tehran to its knees — based on the belief that Iran is building nukes. That belief led to Israel launching a strike. And that’s what triggered Iran’s massive response: a brutal and ongoing missile bombardment of Israel that still hasn’t stopped.
So Israel struck first. Iran responded hard. And now, the U.S. jumps in — not because of the bombardment, but to take out nuclear facilities that intelligence says don’t exist.
We’re being told this was about helping Israel. But it really sounds more like an attempt to save face. To say, “Look, we did something,” even if what we did won’t stop what’s actually happening.
Let’s be real about this — Iran is a sovereign nation. A prideful one. They’re not just going to roll over now that America’s dropped some bombs. If anything, it strengthens their resolve to keep hitting Israel until they feel the message is received.
And here's what most people don’t understand: Iran doesn’t have to hit the United States directly to make their point. They can just keep hammering Israel. And since the U.S. already “did something,” we might try to stay out of it from here… even though there are thousands of American troops all over that region and targets all around us.
Iran could hit our ships. Our embassies. Our allies. They could even try something closer to home. But they might not. Because from their perspective, they’re already winning — by focusing all that fire on Israel.
Now, I’m not interested in picking sides between these two countries. I’m not trying to get into who’s right or who’s wrong. Each side feels justified. Each side believes they’re acting in self-defense. But when all is said and done — the facts on the ground speak louder than opinions.
The missile storm raining down on Israel didn’t stop when the U.S. struck Iran. That’s what we need to pay attention to.
So what did we actually accomplish?
Because when the dust settles, we still have military personnel in harm’s way. We still have ships in reach. We still have a fragile economy and tensions in every direction. And we still have leaders making calls without clarity — or without telling us the whole truth.
Let’s not forget: people are dying. Civilians. Children. Families. And once again, America finds itself in the middle of something we may not fully understand, or even belong in.
And here’s the hard part to say — but it’s true: this might not be about defending Israel. It might be about defending appearances. About satisfying political pressure. About managing headlines.
But it won’t stop the bombs.
It won’t stop the blood.
And it sure won’t bring peace.
Peace.
